Still no response? Perhaps you aren’t actually interested in debate at all. I’ll try again anyway:

Do you still stand by your account of tarot’s history and origins? If you do, how do you respond to the account offered by historians? What case do you make against their evidence?

Or, if your opinion has changed, will you annotate your video with corrections? If not, why not?

Tarot game players are trying to educate the public about these games and when videos like this one with false information appear we should do what is needed to counteract it. It’s wrong to spread lies about culture like this.

Now to be fair, a lot of those posts are actually not saying that tarot is only for games but quite rightly discussing the representation of history with respect to evidence. No one is claiming a monopoly on truth – they are pointing out evidence and that’s just not the same thing.

If you wish to comment on my video on the history, do feel free. I won’t censor or block you and it is unfair of you to assume that I or others would. We may reply though, as you do here – that’s how debate works.

So they can come here and say what they will and increase our videos numbers and I can come here and marvel that they have the time and inclination to try to rain on our triumphal parade. The tarot’s Trumps is derived from triumph, a triumphal procession that is the Major Arcana. That parade has gone on for a long time and will go on long after we’ve passed on. Tarot is a game, tarot cards can be played, tarot cards can be read, I can read tarot cards as can many, many wonderful people. Peace.

I have received many private messages asking me how I can stand receiving the incredibly boring “Tarot is for games” text comments on this video and why I haven’t blocked them, as I’m sure they would block me if they had the chance. I really don’t know why I haven’t blocked them. I guess it’s because I don”t believe that we have a monopoly on the truth and I know that they don’t know me or my ability to read tarot cards and my psychic abilities. But I don’t know them either, nor do I want to.

I am a big fan of Zecharia Sitchin and recommend his books to everyone.

tarot is for card games, people! XD

    Ronald doesn’t approve :(

Yes! As presented here it is totally fake! But tarot wasn’t meant to be this fakery. thay were made for games! It’s more fun to play card games with tarot cards! Wikipedia has better information than this POS video

sorry to disapoint….but tarot is 100% fake

Perhaps you should do some changes in the english wiki entry. As I watched your videos, you may have many sources in english to defend what you change and the knowledge to do so. I mean it. :)

The Wiki entry is not perfect by any means but it is whole lot better than this pack of fibs and misrepresentation of facts.

I have played tarot since the age of 14. I have several packs from the 19th century. I have read all that I could in this topic. I have learned the history of printing for 6 years on the university.
I also trust wikipedia more than these bussines – fortune telling sites :)

    you trust wikipedia? c’om

    bullshit, sorry.
    look up wikipedia

Occult and divinatory aspects of “Tarot” cards come from no earlier than the 18th century, and there is no historical evidence of Tarot card divination before the 18th century.

I play Tarot card games on many occasions, and I don’t care at all for ‘Tarot’ card divinatory readings.

Tarot was made for CARD GAMES not divination.

According to scholarly consensus, playing cards originated from China in the 9th century CE and came to Europe through Islamic regions. The 22-card Tarot extension originated from Italy for the playing cards already used there for card games such as Tarocchi. The Tarot pack later spread throughout Europe and was known in France as “Tarot”, since about the 15th century.

Every tarot reading I’ve received has been accurate. I have mine done by a close friend whom is skilled in it.

I plan to purchase my own deck and start reading up on how to interpret them.

They were and they STILL ARE used for games especially in Europe. It is mainly the English speaking countries which only know them as fortune telling. I agree 100% that this video is delusional bullshit!

tarot cards were used for games.

its the old form of playing cards back in the medieval times.

now they turned it into fortune telling.

dont believe this video, its a lot of delusional bullshit.

Yes the cards are vague (that’s a good thing) and contain many symbolic meanings. So someone whose conscious mind is a bit open to their submerged thoughts can have those subconscious thoughts brought forth through symbolic images. It’s not the cards having some innate power.

If I look at a painting full of symbolism I can ‘find’ the meaning in it for myself. It is a relationship and not a computer program of exact variables.

Although people will argue about the Tarot just as people will argue about sports teams and musical groups, my opinion is that the Tarot cards are pictorial symbolic representations of common archetypes within human experience. The random choice of the cards still is used as tools to allow the extraction of subconscious thoughts to be thought about. So the same card can have many different symbolic things to offer. It’s psychological (if you want to use that word) … paintings, music, poetry

No, tarot is NOT the origin of modern playing cards – they predate tarot in Europe by about 70 years.

NO, there is no evidence that the extra picture cards were created for divination – there is no evidence for them being used for such until the end of the 18th century.

Evidence suggests that they represent a triumph procession and were created as a suit of fixed trumps.

You might want to read some history books before attacking people’s scepticism.

Something to say?
